UB40 ft. Ali Campell

UB40 ft Ali Campbell refers to a collaboration between the British reggae band UB40 and their former lead vocalist Ali Campbell. UB40, formed in Birmingham in 1978, gained international fame for their reggae-influenced pop music and became one of the UK’s most successful bands of the 1980s and 1990s.

Ali Campbell was the lead singer and a founding member of UB40 until his departure from the band in 2008 due to various disagreements. Following his departure, Ali Campbell embarked on a solo career but later reunited with two other former UB40 members, Mickey Virtue and Astro, to form a new band called UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro.

This collaboration led to a legal dispute over the use of the UB40 name between Ali Campbell’s version of UB40 and the remaining original members of UB40. As a result, both groups have continued to perform and record music separately, with Ali Campbell’s version often credited as “UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro.”

Despite the legal battles, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro have released albums and toured extensively, performing classic UB40 hits as well as new material. Their performances continue to attract fans of the original band’s music, keeping the reggae legacy alive.
