Kensington

Kensington is a Dutch rock band formed in Utrecht in 2005. The band members include Eloi Youssef (vocals, guitar), Casper Starreveld (guitar, vocals), Jan Haker (bass), and Niles Vandenberg (drums). Known for their anthemic rock sound and energetic live performances, Kensington has become one of the most successful and popular bands in the Netherlands.

Kensington gained widespread recognition with their second album, “Vultures,” released in 2012. The album included hit singles such as “Home Again” and “Let Go,” establishing the band as a major force in the Dutch music scene. Since then, they have released several more successful albums, including “Rivals” (2014), “Control” (2016), and “Time” (2019).

The band’s music is characterized by catchy melodies, soaring vocals, and dynamic guitar-driven arrangements. They draw inspiration from various rock genres, incorporating elements of indie rock, alternative rock, and post-punk into their sound.

Kensington’s energetic live performances have earned them a dedicated fan base both in the Netherlands and internationally. They have toured extensively, playing at major festivals and venues across Europe. Some of their other well-known songs include “War,” “Sorry,” and “Streets.” Overall, Kensington’s passionate and anthemic rock music continues to resonate with audiences around the world.

In the autumn of 2021, Eloi Youssef decided to stop as frontman of Kensington. The band played their last shows in 2022, including Kensington at the Zwarte Cross. Kensington has not performed since Youssef’s departure, the band is still diligently looking for a new frontman.
